Part-Time Programs:
Since the standard M.Div. degree program requires three years of full-time study, seminarians enrolled part-time may expect the duration of their program to be lengthened. The faculty will assist parttime students in scheduling required courses and field education assignments in a timely manner. In no case, however, will the degree be awarded more than seven years after matriculation.

POST-DEACONATE PROGRAM

This three-year academic program is offered to those who have completed or are currently enrolled in the Antiochian House of Studies' St. Stephen's Theology Program; a three-year, six semester, academic correspondence course in Sacred Theology, sponsored and maintained by the Antiochean OrthodoxChurch in North America.

The purpose of this program is to offer those candidates to the holy priesthood who, due to personal circumstances, could not commit to a full-time residency in St. Sophia Seminary, a more complete theological grounding in particular academic theology courses deemed most necessary to a future pastor in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the U.S.A. Enrollment and completion of this program is obligatory, according to the directives of the hierarchs of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the U.S.A., for all candidates for ordination to the priesthood in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the U.S.A. who have completed theological studies elsewhere than at St. Sophia Seminary.

Classes are held on a once-monthly basis in a seminar format. Great emphasis is placed on extensive preparatory reading of assigned texts and the regular presentation of written assignments when classes are convened.

Two courses are offered per semester, each course being a three-credit course over a 3 years (6 semesters) period. At the completion of this program the students will have gamered 36 credits over three years.
